Why we build RatifAIGate

Someone has to answer for what AI agents do.

Companies are giving AI real hands. Employees have HR, software has observability and cloud has cost management. AI agents need their own control point, between the agent and the real world.

  • Models change. The work stays.

    Next year’s model won’t be this year’s, and today’s framework may not survive. The work you care about, such as closing the month’s invoices, is still there. So we govern the outcome, and its rules, record and trust outlast whatever runs underneath.

  • Decide before, record after.

    An agent that can act needs a decision made before it acts. Checking afterwards is only observation. That ordering is the core of the product.

  • Preview: implemented, not yet proven in production

    Freedom is earned, not switched on.

    An agent should start with very little and gain room as the evidence builds: evaluations, clean approvals, no serious incidents. A toggle labelled “autonomous” proves nothing.

Where we are today

Early, in the open, and clear about it.

You should know what stage we are at before you rely on us.

  • It is early

    Fifteen numbered releases, from 0.0.1 to 0.0.15, in under four weeks, each with its own release notes. The command-line tool is on public npm.

  • No public customers yet

    Our own organization runs on a hosted control plane and a separately run data plane.

  • We use it on ourselves, partly

    Parts of RatifAIGate were built by AI coding agents whose sessions were recorded through RatifAIGate. Not continuously, and not every session.

    No audit or assessment has been completed. We will say so on this site when that changes.

  • We label what is proven

    Every capability on this site is marked live, in preview or planned.
